Your own work meetings only
Please don't use Nerva in interviews, exams or certifications, or anywhere a hidden, real-time answer would misrepresent what you know.
For Mac · In early testing
Nerva listens to your work meetings on your Mac. Press a hotkey, and a suggested answer appears on your phone. It's a quiet second opinion while you're on a call.
Macs with Apple silicon · macOS 14 or later
Yes, if testing starts on Monday. You could say: “We can hit the 14th if QA starts Monday. I'll confirm with the team and send a firm date by Thursday.”
Can we bring the launch forward to the 14th?
Let me check where testing is.
Marketing needs a firm date by Friday.

How it works
Nerva runs quietly in your menu bar. You decide when to ask.
While Nerva is open, it listens through your Mac's microphone. There's no Dock icon and no window to manage.
Speech becomes a transcript right on your Mac. The sound itself is never saved.
Press a hotkey when you'd like help. Nerva sends the recent transcript, plus a screenshot if you take one, to Groq on your own free key.
A suggested answer appears on a private page on your phone, above the lines Nerva has heard.
Privacy
Everything else happens on your Mac and your own Wi-Fi.
Only on a hotkey press
Always on your own Wi-Fi
| What | Where it goes | How long it's kept |
|---|---|---|
| Sound from the microphone | Nowhere. It's transcribed on your Mac | Never saved |
| Transcripts and answers | Your Mac only | Until you uninstall |
| The recent transcript, on each hotkey press | Groq, to be answered | Groq's own policy applies |
| Screenshots | Groq, with the question that uses them | Not kept on your Mac |
| Your Groq key and license | Your Mac only | Until you uninstall |
Anyone on the same Wi-Fi who has the phone page's link can open it, so keep the QR code to yourself.
Ground rules
Nerva shows these the first time it opens, and you press I understand to go on.
Please don't use Nerva in interviews, exams or certifications, or anywhere a hidden, real-time answer would misrepresent what you know.
Each hotkey press sends the recent transcript, and any screenshots you've captured, to Groq. Keep Nerva off calls whose contents must not leave your company.
Know your workplace's rules about recording, and tell the people you're with when they apply.
During a meeting
Answers appear on your phone. You can change the keys from Hotkeys in the ◉ menu.
Sharing your screen? Choose Hide icon in the ◉ menu. Nerva keeps listening, and Ctrl + Shift + 0 brings the icon back.
Meeting over? Choose Quit Nerva. Hiding the icon doesn't stop it.
Early testing
Nerva is being tested with a small group. If you have meetings on a Mac, try it and tell us what helps and what gets in the way.

Nerva is signed by its developer rather than distributed through Apple, so macOS asks you to approve it once with Open Anyway. The setup guide shows you how.
